I've been playing valorant about a year now, started off last year's July, came from bronze 1 and currently peaking in Diamond 3. I've spent a lot of time in game and following the competitive scene. As one who didn't know anything about aim mechanics when I just started, I'm proud to say that I've come pretty far in understanding much about this game in and out.
Now, for some context: I live in Singapore, grew up in a strict household whereby gaming is seemingly taboo. The valorant scene in Asia isn't big, and I'm still studying. I know very well that d3 is still pretty amateurish, but as someone who spent about 1k hrs in game and enjoyed every minute of it, I truly want to make it a career.
I'll spare yall the talk about the commitments I'm willing to make in order to go pro, I believe that anyone who wants to do anything must have that kind of drive anyways.
I understand that 1k hrs is an extremely small amount of time spent as compared to an average pro, that chances are slim even if I play my cards right, along with the lack of competition in the APAC region, AND a 2 year national service compulsory for all Singaporean males, that my chances of ever going pro is small, but I need to try at least once in my life.
Right now, I'm feeling pretty lost, partly because I'm uncertain about my own potential ( whether I can even reach radiant), and partly because I don't know what level I have to reach before I could feel confident enough to pursue scrims and start looking for teams ( even that I have no clue how to participate).
I'm just looking for any advice on what should I do right now, because I'm feeling really lost. Also any ideas on how to actually sign up for scrims and pro 10mans would be greatly appreciated, because I have no clue ( like even if I hit radiant what happens next?? Is there a website I can sign up for small local events??)
Thanks for listening to my rant.
