There are lots of games that don’t hide your elo/mmr like Overwatch, World of Warcraft arena, even faceit for example. This arrow system is better than the complete mystery of official CSGO match making but it’s not nearly good enough.
Showing players their true elo isn’t something that ‘may or may not work’. I really feel like it will clearly improve the game because it’s already been done before and it’s almost universally accepted as the better system.
Very few people like not knowing how close or far their rank up is. There’s something that makes the victories in Valorant feel psychologically hollow, because you just sit there like “well I lost 2 down arrows last game and I gained 3 with this win. Sooo I’m up 1 arrow into this rank? How many do I need? HOW DOES THIS EVEN WORK”
I love valorant and I know this change has been suggested in the past, but this change should absolutely not be ignored. I feel it’s far more important than you’d think at first glance because it would make the game sooo much more addicting. It’ll make it what it should be, grinding competitive games in hopes of getting better. That feeling of KNOWING “if I win this game I will certainly rank up” instead of “this might be the rank up? nope I guess not because idk how many damn arrows I need”
