Let me start by saying that lineups in afterplant situation can be helpful in securing a round in exceptional cases but all these posts, tutorials, websites and videos about afterplant lineups are getting a bit out of hand. Yes they are fun and can provide a nice clip but it just doesn't happen very often that a afterplant lineup is the deciding factor in a round. In higher elo games I encounter it maybe only once every 5 to 10 games.
Get the basics down first before you start diving into all kinds of afterplant lineups and situations. Putting the same time and effort in learning the basics instead of learning lineups will eventually win you more rounds, guaranteed!
Some quick basics:
- Don't save your util just for the sake of potentially being able to play afterplant lineups. To get to that point at all, you must first capture and control the site, and get the spike down safely. Your util can and SHOULD help with this. For example to stall early retakes on the site.
- If the spike is down, you are of more added value on the site, for example to hold crossfires, instead of being far away from the site to play lineups. Also here, you can use your util to stall retakes. Without your firepower on site, your team can die so early, that your snakebites or molly are of no use at all.
And to be clear: I'm not talking about non-afterplant lineups that you use during a round, e.g. Sova darts to gain information, or Viper orbs to obscure sight. These are lineups for situations that occur every round, and are extremely useful, and basically a must.
