So I started valorant recently, played around 15 games so far and have had bad experience so far as my first fps. My first game I picked the fire guy with dreadlocks, and everyone in the lobby had a go at me for "instalocking". This was the common concensus in the lobby as everyone told me that instalocking is a scum move, so I thought it must be considered taboo and apologize. Since then, I have always wait for everyone to pick first and then choose my character, but out of the 15 games I have played, around 10 of them I have been told to play as a character called sage as she seems to be a crucial character for the team composition, the only thing is I don't find this character very fun especially when I am playing her every game because other team members are reluctant to play her. One game a guy in my team was telling me to play her and I go fed up and just played the character Ryze, and throughout the game he trolled my by telling enemy where I am in all chat, throwing fire at me, to damage my character, etc. I really like this game but I dislike the community just as much, the skills are a breath of fresh air for me as someone coming from a Moba background (league and Dota). I know I'm not great and new at the game and it is a team game so I should respect my teammates choice who are more experience (so as to not ruin their game either). That being said, my scores look like 7-18-4. 2-9-12, 14-22-1, etc. So maybe the treatment I am getting lies behind my skill level, but at the same time it's not ranked so why create such a fuss about what I should play.
