I’m just bored so I’m snowballing ideas here
Increased credits to 1000
“This rework is intended for the Bucky to compete with the Stinger’s performance, so they should share similar price categories”
Decrease primary fire spread by 25%
“The goal of the Bucky is to get one shot kills, punishing enemies for not checking corners and awarding players for closing the distance. Despite this, the Bucky remains extremely inconsistent in its one shot potential. Unlike the shorty or the judge, the Bucky cannot fire a follow up shot quickly, making it essentially useless if the first shot does not kill. By decreasing the spread and retaining pellet count and damage drop off, the Bucky should be able to consistently kill within a zone of 5 meters. It still remains punishable if multiple enemies engage or is fought at a range disadvantage.”
Alternate fire is changed to a slug round that has an accuracy of .6 -a little worse than the sheriff. It will deal 150 damage to the head at a range of less than 20 meters and has low penetration.
“The alternate fire in its current state is useless. The Bucky is a primary weapon, and the shorty does its pump and dump job much better while being much cheaper. To provide some more flexibility for the Bucky, a slug round can be great for being able to compete with other longer ranged weapons in a pinch.”
The sheriff remains the better choice for fighting rifles using precision, thanks to its faster fire rate, high pen, and longer range. The stinger is full auto meaning it can take on multiple people, and still has a longer range than the Bucky; however, the Bucky holds much better in close range than the sheriff and has a one shot potential compared to the erratic spray of the stinger.
Hopefully this rework would encourage more variety in cheap buys, and make the Bucky actually worth it compared to a shorty, which basically does its job.
