I've been playing this game for quite a while and I still see very common mistakes that almost everyone in low Elo still does. A huge reason how I ranked up was eliminating bad habits like these and get the basics right first. I actually still see people making these mistakes in high elos too sometimes.
1. Using the scope WAAAY too much.
This is one of the things that bugged me the most mostly from the fact that I used to play CS. Using the scope is very situational and should mostly only be used when holding far angles. DONT scope every time you see an enemy and spray and pray that you hit him (I think using the odin might be an exception to this). Good players will kill you by the time you take to open the scope. I had a friend who had this habit which he got from playing too much siege and best solution I could think of was to unbind your right click and play a lot of dm. You'll stop using it as much in no time. Also don't just spray and hold your mouse button and hope for the best. Learn how to burst first and to back off and then reset your recoil.
2. Playing way too aggressive and not respecting your opponents on defenders.
Sometimes getting aggressive picks and taking space and map control on defenders might be a good idea but I would really suggest to learn how to play passively first especially in low ranks. I used to see agents that take sage and then push showers every single round. You might get a kill or two if you're lucky but 90% of the time you'll be punished for it if you have a good opponent. Playing very aggressive in low elos is a very bad idea especially if you have bad aim. What do I mean by playing aggressive? Well you have the time advantage on your side if you're playing on defenders that is the attackers have to push. You don't. Be patient and hold an angle from a cover that you can easily escape from and reposition. If you see multiple people pushing IMMEDIETLY BACK OFF if you got the first kill or if you didn't. Don't re-peak the same angle again and reposition to a different angle. Even if you get one kill, don't be a loser and try killing all of them. 99.99% of the time you won't. Getting an early pick is a huuuge advantage for your team as the rest of the round is a 4v5 and you have the man advantage so you can sit back and relax. Even if you didn't get a kill there at least you got information and that's very valuable. Tell your team how many people you saw. Never yell out ALL B OR ALL A if you didn't count 5 people. This is also very common. For example if you're holding mid on split from vents and you see 3 people pushing from sewers then back of, use your utilities to slow them down( Smoke if you're omen or slow orb by sage or whatever you're using) and then hold connector/mails and keep relaying whatever information you get to your team and ask the guy at b or heaven to help you out. Knowing when to play aggressive is a skill you get from experience and if you're low elo you probably don't have that.
3. Communication
Good communication is a skill in itself. It's a skill that's very overlooked in low elos because a lot people don't know how valuable it is. Good communication might be the difference in winning the game. And by good communication I don't mean telling the person who's trying to clutch a 1v3 on what to do and how to play the game. That's called backseat gaming and is very counter-productive. By good communication I meant letting your team know if you've seen or heard anything and what you're going to hold or if you're going cover them or not or telling where you died from and who killed you from where. I don't care if you see one guy or 4 or 5 you tell your team. Even if you just hear them. Even if you're the only guy in the team with a mic tell them. If you don't have a mic buy one or at least use the very good ping system that valorant has or use team chat. Just make sure you're talking one way or the other. Also if you have an idea or a Strat in mind like rush b(best Strat) for example suggest it to your team instead of ordering them to listen to you. There's way more of a chance they'll listen to you if you do that. Communication can be very lack cluster in solo queue but yours doesn't have to be. If you open up the others will too. Always keep morale high and you have a higher chance of winning. Also I can't believe I have to say this but don't be toxic if you want to rank up. I have to admit I used to be very very toxic and used to rage a lot and the only thing this is going to do is make the team play worse including yourself. If someone is toxic INSTANTLY MUTE THEM. Don't give them a second chance. Whatever comms they might give is not worth getting tilted over. That's far worse.
4. Not warming up or practicing your aim
Your aim sucks. Yes you. Your aim isn't as good as you think it is. It can always get better no matter how good you are. If you think you don't need to train your aim then your aim isn't very good in the first place. Even professionals have to constantly train their aim to be better and better and be more consistent. If they do it you should too. This is how a regular day of a valorant grind should look like for you. Hop in a deathmatch and play for like 10-20 minutes until you feel like your aim is on point and then start a normal competitive match. Then play deathmatch for as long as you can after you're done with ranked preferably before going to sleep. A hour of deathmatch before you sleep can do wonders for your aim. BUT your deathmatch sessions should be productive. If you still play with bad habits like bad crosshair placement, using ads etc your aim is just going to be the same. Practice your fundamentals like good crosshair placement, burst-fire, counter-strafing and don't focus on just kills and winning the deathmatch. Focus on getting better and improving your basics. ALSO GOOD CROSSHAIR PLACEMENT IS EXTREMEMELY IMPORTANT IN THIS GAME. Good crosshair placement=good aim. If you don't know what it is then go to youtube. Tons of videos about it.
5. Economy
This is also something that most players in even high elos forget about. Managing your economy is very important if you want to improve. I rarely see people in low elos do an eco(which is to not spend too much money so that you can get really good guns and abilities the next round) and just force buy literally every single round no matter what. I see people keeping their money 0 in the beginning of the round so that they can force buy a sheriff and a half shield and then dying right after. Don't do that. Save your money and buy in such a way that you'll have enough to buy a phantom/vandal + abilities the next round. This might sometimes get tricky in solo queues as most of the time they wont listen and force-buy anyway and my first tip would be to not play solo. Otherwise when your team is being stupid, be stupid with them. If your team is force-buying, force buy with them and if they're saving, save with them. When 4 people in your team is doing an eco and you buy a vandal, the whole round is basically a 1v5. Same rule applies when 4 people force and you buy a ghost so thats a 4v5. Don't buy the vandal no matter how much money you'll have the next round. Always save with the team. Also if you have a lot of money drop a gun to your teammates. Don't be a selfish prick. This is a team game. Your kda won't matter if you lose the game.
There are still way more that I can list here but these are what I felt is very important without making the post too huge. Most of your other mistakes might be fixed by just playing way more and getting experience. Game sense can only come from playing the game. If you think I missed any please let me know :)
