Phone verification for competitive would be perfect, it would prevent, or at the very least deter cheaters/alts. It should only be for competitive, that way the outliers (keyword) without phones can still play. Valorant has an alt/cheater problem worse than most games to play comp, so this would be what’s needed to help it. It may not stop it, but it will help deter many people from doing it in the first place.

The only people who could be annoyed by this are those without phones, however they are heavy outliers. As that means they somehow have an entire pc setup, internet, and the time to play but not even a cheap phone? It would help exponentially more people than it would hurt. And the very small amount of people who are hurt, aren’t heavily affected as they can still play any other mode like unrated.

I also want to point out again a keyword is “deterrent” in case people reply with ways that alt/cheaters may use to workaround it using the “this wouldn’t stop them” argument.
