In a thread about the upcoming changes to Bind u/Jack_of_all_offs had an amazing idea to make Split more fun to play for attackers. They proposed to extend Sewers and make it a connector to B Site. This is how I imagine it:
Sewers would follow either the red OR green path. On a second thought the green path makes more sense and is easier to read on a map, i just drew the red path first so that's why it's there. Let me know which path you think would be better.
I used my amazing photo editing skills to visualize how the entrances could look:
There is a door connecting Sewers to B Site. In mid, where the door to Sewers is now, there is a Zipline to go down into Sewers instead.
This is what I think u/Jack_of_all_offs had in mind. I had the idea to add another feature:
Hear me out because this would create revolutionary gameplay:
There's a lever in A Main to flood the sewers making them inaccessible. (Or maybe just like a Viper Ult?)
Attackers can send one Player to A so they can flood Sewers if they intend to take B so that defenders wont have the option to retake site through the new connector.
If the Defenders manage to get control of A Main they can flood Sewers to stop attacker rotations.
Kind of like the destructible door on Lotus that can have advantages and disadvantages for both sides depending on what their plan is.
Would you think completely blocking Sewers after the Lever has been used is better or do you like the idea of the Water acting like a Viper Ult? Or should the flooding idea be scrapped?
What do you think of this concept in general? Do you think this would help in balancing Attacking/Defending on Split or would it ruin the map?
Personally I enjoy playing the Version of Split in the game right now but I like thinking about things like this.
and sorry for violating your eyes with my photo editing job xD
