With patch 5.04, they finally released custom crosshair colours so I've been testing them out since release.
Colour physics: you always want a colour of a crosshair that directly contrasts with the colour of what you're seeing for maximum visibility. That's why the meta for yellow character models was cyan, being the closest crosshair colour to contrast whilst also not blending in with most objects in Valorant maps.
Yellow's direct contrast is actually violet, and keep in mind each colour has a wide range of Hex code values that can still signify that colour, #E300FC and #7F00FF for instance are both technically violet. Some of the many variations of violet felt like they blended in too much into the environment for me (I felt it in Breeze and Ascent mostly). Most of my testing was done with 80% digital vibrance on Nvidia control panel, so this could just be a me thing.
So, with all that said, the hex I ended up choosing that seems to be a pretty good, comfortable colour has been: #8F2FF9
I just wanted to give a quick overview and help whoever is feeling lost with the billions of colours you can pick now. Comment below to discuss if anyone's found anything different!
