Cypher Main With 4.5k Games; Here Are My Thoughts

Hello everyone,

Long time lurker here. I have played around 4.5K games with Cypher as a main since launch, almost exclusively on Spike Rush. As Unrated/Ranked need more focus and time.

I thought that I would like to share some insights about the current Cypher situation from my perspective, so I drafted a quick post, and hopefully, some of it will be of use:

Tripwires:

If placed correctly, Cypher is excellent for closing flanks when attacking and defending sites with tripwires.

However, it is limited to only one person and unable to slow down a rush to an area like Chamber, for example.

**Most notably, when there are Wolf orbs in the game (wtf is their new speed?), I tend to put them low, so the wolves go over them without triggering. But whenever there is a Fade, no matter how low I place it, it keeps getting triggered by her ghosts when they are flying above it. This needs to be addressed and fixed as it totally demolishes this ability.

Cage:

I consider this mind game; it helps to slow down those who are attacking, and while defending, I use it to defend aggressively and go in or around it as many players think that no one will be coming for them. While attacking, it is of great help to block corners and some angle views.

Back in the day, it used to slow those who go through it, and I think this needs to be brought back, especially in contrast with all the new agents with their abilities. (I’m looking at you, slippery Neon) 

Camera:

The camera is fine; I think maybe reducing the cooldown after getting destroyed a bit will help.

Ult:

The primary issue with using his ult is that we have to get relatively close and risk being exposed and shot.

Also, there is a bug that I noticed happening a lot. After pressing the ult button and during the animation of throwing his hat, if you die at some time within it, the ult does not trigger, and the ult points are gone.

One main point:

The delay of the tripwire and camera after placement and usage to be invisible is a bit long, and maybe reducing it will add more benefit to him.
