After forgetting about him during the 'Revelation' cinematic and everything around the Lotus reveal, Riot made sure they reverted back to their old ways of 'dead cypher' cinematics to keep all the fans happy.
Pretty funny easter egg I noticed on a rewatch of the reveal, it's at 1:03 in the trailer video
