Evening people! I'd like to say I've been in a stack for as long as I remember since I started playing valorant. Friends were the reason I got into this game. 4/5 stacking is a blessing, trust me, but there are times I wish I'd solo queued. Firstly, being in plat 1, our 5 stack can't have any smurf or particularly higher ranked player on our team, since we're all equal~ish in our skills and ranks, though our duelists (me and 2 others) do get some extra kills here and there because, well, duelists. It's rare that somebody out of us carries everyone, but it does happen.
Now being plat 1, we do quite occasionally face smurfs. Now in this case, our team can't outgun them, given our skills are pre determined and known. The opposition can can get a lucky random, or queue with a smurf, which puts us at a disadvantage.
On the other side, we can make incredibly coordinated plays and stomp on the other team when we are in the zone.
I tried solo queue today, since nobody was up and some were having a rough aim day, not willing to ruin our competitive matches. Solo queue has it's fair share of set backs, but damn it was fun interacting with randoms, and some ranked demons who got on my team.
A particular match I'd mention was on split, and our kj afked round 6. Somehow, our team pulled a 8-4 attack, followed by a complete 4v5 defense and brought it home. Absolute mad players. There is the occasional thrower, or 2 (that sucked), but it was fun. I'll not leave my stack anytime soon, but solo queue sure is a breath of fresh air for me rn :)
