Hi everyone,
I'd like to get everyone's opinion on Jett vs the other duelists, specifically in the professional Valorant scene. From https://www.thespike.gg/news/vct-lock-in-2023-agent-pick-rates/3204, we can see that Jett as a duelist had the highest overall pick rate among all the duelists, by far, on every map. The only other duelist that is comparable is Raze, with an overall pick rate of 28%, although she saw an 100% pick rate on Split and a 75% pick rate on fracture.
In fact, the bottom 5 agents in terms of pick rate from VCT happened to be the other 4 duelists and chamber (which is unsurprising since his nerfs gutted him as a character). Something about this seems off to me - it seems so jarring that there's essentially just one "best" duelist in pro play, one "subpar" duelist, and the rest of the duelists are left out to dry.
What does the community think? On one hand, Jett has been nerfed in the past and the changes were made to specifically counter her extremely unbalanced risk-reward for OPing. On the other hand, her movement abilities (dash, updraft, hover) and her fast-acting smoke seem to be too good in their own right - her entries alone are better than the 4 bottom duelists. I don't really understand how Riot can see this as acceptable, especially since KJ had near similar stats (70% pick rate) and she got nerfed quickly.
Please note that I'm talking about pro play. I totally understand that comp is different here.
