Enemy abilities should be visible on the mini-map while in view of your team

Situation: You and an ally are retaking B site on Breeze. You are holding an angle from CT, while they have wrapped around and are about to push from B main. Being a good teamate, you are tracking their progress on the minimap so you know to apply pressure when they do. Suddenly they step into the open! You do do as well, and are immediately gunned down. Oh well, at least they will trade, right? Only, when you switch to their camera, you see that no trade will be coming. They are stuck behind a sage wall, and were never in the open at all.

Valorants abilities are far more versatile and effective than many other FPS. As such, I think a good player should be rewarded for their awareness by showing enemy abilities when they are in view of your team.

This would come up most often with Smokes and Walls, which block ally vision and change the geometry of the map. This is already partially in the game, showing your allies "field of view" cones diminished, but is very subtle and doesn't tell you what the cause is.

Too many times I have been unaware of a random wall on site and dropped to the wrong side, or thought my team had control of an area when they were saring at a smoke. We already see our own utility on the map, and some important enemy utility, this would just be an expansion of that.

###Pros:

  • Rewards map awareness
  • Decreases the punishment of a player who won't communicate (It's not your fault if an ally doesn't talk to you, but you are at a disadvantage. This lets you make up for them in some small way)
  • Allows for more tactical play (from your enemy, too)
  • Map images and ally sight technology are already in game
  • Allows more cohesive teamwork by allowing you to predict ally responses.
  • Buffs retaking post plant, which seems underpowered right now.

###Cons

  • Decreases unkown variables in the game
  • Technically devalues having communicating teammates (?)
  • Could clutter the map
  • Indirect Nerf to Cypher (while his stuff won't be mapped when invisible, could cause active cams to be found easier.)
  • May allow for players to find gaps or mistakes in setups easier
  • Some might argue this makes the game "easier"

I could see this being changed to ignore some utility (like cyphers stuff) and only show utility which blocks vision, instead of just showing the line of sight being shortened.

I would love to hear thoughts on this change, whether you would like to see it or not and how it may change the game.
