Hi everyone! I decided to cosplay our beloved engineer a couple of months ago, and ended up really stretching out this project (procrastination 100). Like my previous cosplays, I frequented my local thrift store several times before I could collect all the things needed to complete the costume. Everything you see is either handsown, glued together haphazardly or held together by a small amount of sheer willpower.

Now for the fun part: the gun was printed on my Ender 3 filament printer, using u/domco_92 's wonderful (and free!) .stl files (check out his post for his beautifully outlined build process). Similar to his gun, I utilized the hollow space in the main sight to wire up 3 LEDs I had scavenged from around the house, and then fired them up into a piece of acrylic I hand sawed. This is all to say that the sight actually lights up! (see one of the last pictures in the imgur album). I sanded the entire thing, filled in some cracks between the assembled pieces and spray painted it with a nice & shiny gunmetal colour.

Gun buddy was printed at my internship, where I had fixed up one of their old resin printers and was granted permission to play around with it (sidenote: resin printers are the coolest things ever and I need one TT). This .stl file is from user 3DPrinterBot3 on Thingiverse, and it printed wonderfully. I spray painted it with the same gunmetal colour, then hand painted the details.

Majority of the pictures in this gallery are taken at FANEXPO Canada 2022. It was my first time attending a convention of any sort and I had so much fun taking pictures with fellow cosplayers!

If anyone is curious to see any of the build progress, I have it outlined in a highlight on my instagram @ xglorifyingx, and some of the early stages were even recorded on my twitch @ xglorifyingx (although I wouldn't be surprised if all that remained was a clip, it was a while ago ehe).

If anyone has any questions, ask away! I'm more than glad to answer :3
