I have been in the US for less than 3 weeks and the Valorant experience here is already very disappointing. I am currently in Silver 3 if that matters. Not one day goes by without anyone commenting on my accent, making jokes about call centers, and asking me to go back to my country.

I am an Indian and I am proud to have my accent. I will never use the fake American accent. I realize that it might be difficult for some people to understand our accent and that is why I put in some effort in clearly pronouncing my words. The response I get after I speak usually discourages me from communicating with the team any further for the duration of the match.

Now people here will say "Just mute them" but muting them will result in us not getting call-outs and possibly losing the game. I usually try to ignore the racists during a match but when I am queued with a full squad that keeps on spewing trash from their mouths, it is quite hard to focus on the game.

I kind-of expected people to behave like this on US servers. What I did not expect is that I'd be encountering this almost everyday.

I'm sure there are many South Asians playing from the US that would agree with this.
