valorant is the first fps shooter I have ever played, so I have no understanding of how the ranked system works

I always play with my friend (he is bronze 2 and im iron 2), he also doesn't have any previous experience...the problem is, it doesn't matter if we win, we lose,I'm team MVP, match MVP,I'm last on the board, the game will always give my friend more points than me(or take less if we lost)

so If anyone has the time can you please explain to me what the fuck is going on
