Me and my friends got match with a whole team of racist and xenophobic people tonight. They’ve been shaming my team since the moment we enter the game. They’ve been attacking us and our families, also using the current COVID-19 situation to discriminate against Chinese people. I’ve been playing games from Riot for more than 6 years and haven’t seen something that’s more toxic or hurtful than this. It’s very hard to believe that people today holds so much hatred against strangers they meet online and are attacking people just because of their nationality. If Riot don’t do anything to stop people like this, it’s gonna be so disappointing and heartbreaking for old players who are from Asia like me. As Asians are already getting attacked and harassed by ignorant people around the US because of COVID 19, this issue should be taken seriously by Riot. It’s not simply toxicity online, it’s racial violence that happens everyday and it’s gonna get worse if people do nothing. I sent a report to Riot and it doesn't seem to help. I don't know if it's because hate speech against Asians are usually not being taking seriously comparing to other harmful acts in game, but I've seen people joking and talking bad to people who they think is Chinese about how they should be responsible for COVID-19 and didn't receive any punishment. I saved a part of the chat they sent in game, and it was just disgusting to read it again and makes me so sad that Riot won't ban those kind of players from playing the game.
