Obviously, misogyny is a real problem in valorant, but in my experience playing with my gf, and playing with female friends I would say it barely ever happens. Barely happens doesnt make it right, but for the sake of my point, how often can you really catch something like that while recording?
The blatant lies some of these people are willing to sell for views is actually a joke, I've heard many stories from personal friends who have dealt with this, and I've had this happen to me as well:
a couple of nights ago i played a game w a female content creator, she didnt use her mic once, she was obviously throwing a little bit (doing dumb shit, w keying, making crazy aggressive plays).
The vibe was very lax, nobody really cared, and for those who were talking, we were just jokingly flaming and bantering with one another.
Me and my duo started trying to get the content creator to use their mic, asking her to talk, and making small banter. (Mind you, not once did she use it, and not once did we realize she was a creator or a girl)
Literally the next morning I get sent a video from a friend of mine from tiktok and she calls me laughing her ass off
I watch the clip over and I see that she edited the clip to make it sound like she was comming, and the things we were saying were the replies to her comms. The way she edited it made me sound like I was harassing her and trying to get her to keep using her mic like some creep
Literally had no clue she was a girl, and to top it all off she linked my and my duos valorant tag. I've been getting spammed with friend requests from her loyal viewers. I dont understand the point of putting out my val tag like that but whatever.
It got like maybe only 50 000 views? But even then, reading all those comments got to me. Honestly made me feel like ass, and when people in your personal life have seen the video it makes it all that much more real.
Im 100% not the only person that has dealt with this, and it sucks because 100% there are guys who are legitimate assholes, and then there are guys like me who are just another stepping stone to generating more content.
