I used to have packet loss. Mostly it's 1-2 percentage but randomly spike to 30-40%. I am using an Ethernet cable and I only have this issue on valorant. So I tried to dig up a little bit and with the help of OstrumSalamancer (riot support staff) finally it got solved. I think most of you people will benefit from this fix. Without further adue ,
The trick is so simple , you just need to disable ipv6 and set DNS as google DNS.
• Hit the Windows key or click the Windows icon in your taskbar
• Type "Settings"
• Select "Network and Internet"
• Select "Change adapter options"
• Find your network adapter and select "Properties"
• Uncheck the IPv6 protocol:
• Select "Internet Protocol Version4 (TCP/IPv4)" and open Properties (recommended)
• Go to the bottom of the menu and change "Obtain DNS server address automatically", to "Use the following DNS server addresses:"
• Pick one of these public DNS servers to use:
• Google's public DNS:
8.8.8.8 8.8.4.4 • Save your changes by selecting "Ok"
• Close all open web browsers and applications
• Hit the Windows key
• Type "cmd" and press Enter
• In the command prompt, type "ipconfig /flushdns" and press Enter
• Restart your computer and try VALORANT.
I'm pretty sure that most of the people experiencing packet loss will benefit from this. I can't say this about wifi connections or mobile internet. I always blamed my rj45 connector 😂 If these steps are complicated , let me know I will make a video and post the link here. Once again thanks OstrumSalamancer for the quick support.
