From COD to Valorant.

My whole life I played cod and was damn good on console. Valorant is my first game with mouse and keyboard and I’m really just using a laptop to play. I like this tactical shooter style way more than the crack cocaine 4 Red Bull’s and an adderall that COD feels like. I’m gold 2 in comp and say my biggest flaw is an instinct I have from COD. When I’m holding an angle , I have good cross hair placement and will usually play better on attack than defense in terms of gun play. In cod my instinct is to shoot immediately when I see someone at chest or head it doesn’t really matter since the time to kill is so fast. Obviously, this game is different, and first shot is everything. My biggest issue is in the moment panic shooting. I’ll see one or two enemies and get caught a bit off guard and instinctually I’ll just spray at their body before I even have the time to realize there’s an enemy on my screen. In the moment, I’m having a terribly difficult time aiming for the head when I’m being shot at. Once you start that spray, it’s really hard to readjust.

I’ve been doing practice in aimlab to improve my aim and been playing death match a lot with just a sheriff to work on that first bullet accuracy. Both things certainly help but maybe there’s something that helps you all to intentionally look and then aim at someone’s head.
