I know I’ve seen other threads with this discussion, but I want to dive in deeper about what causes it and why it hasn’t been addressed.
The past months I have noticed a significant increase in poor server performance. Often times I will shoot first, shoot through the enemy, but deal no damage and get shot 2-3 times and die. At first I was like, well bud you’re just shit and it’s time to accept it. Then I had numerous people spectating and clips that clearly show the crosshair placement and bullets going through them.
I know this has a lot to do with how information is transmitted to the server and between players, but where is the hang up?
So let’s say two people are dueling, both have 30 ping. Player A shoots first, while holding an angle, but player B hits first because he was the one who peeked. This “peekers advantage” is known. But what about the moments where player A is the one peeking, shoots first, and still ghosts his opponent? What’s causing this?
I really love this game, but coming from CS this feels like a huge downgrade in server performance, which is insane to me because they are 128 tick servers.
It’s gotten to a point where it’s actually ruining the competitive integrity of my gameplay.
Before you mention my internet and connection: I have fios gigabit and I am hard wired with a cat 6 cable. I’m getting all of that gigabit.
