So let it be said that I am somewhere in Iron league. I suck at this game. I am the kind of guy who stands in a doorway with a pistol, watching for snipers. I'm a terrible shot, I will unload a whole magazine at your feet because I am convinced that sooner or later the kickback will carry the gun up to your head. I am that kind of player. If you ever win because of me, it's probably because I am on the opposing team.

And today I got my first Ace. And let me say that, even for me, it was cheap.

So I am playing on Bind. Defense. My whole team, who like me are really not into these whole strategy, tactics, communication aspects of the game, are all rushing to defend A, and I guess someone should hold B, you know, may the blue X on the map show them where the enemies are. I am standing in a corner at B Window, right next to to the entry, because again, I'm playing Iron, and no one in Iron is checking their corners, because what are we, fancy god-tier elo Silver players? And I hear footsteps. And Jet rushes in, not checking her corner, and I, like the calm, precise, well-trained killing machine that I am, shoot her three times in the legs and twice through the upper body, and down she goes.

With the spike. Because if anyone should carry your spike, it's the Duelist who'll go first through any door. Sure.

Now I am panicking, because there are more footsteps outside, and they have to get in here, and they know where I am, so my main goal is to play for some time until my team can get to B. So I shoot a molly around the corner to hold them back. Right into the middle of Sage and Skye, who were sneaking their way up to me. They don't get away in time. I just got three kills under my belt, which, let's make this absolutely clear, I don't deserve, and I am not mentally prepared to deal with.

Now things get serious. Breach, who up to this point was busy massacring my teammates who were storming through the teleporter, decides that he has enough and sets up a fault line to deal with this cheeky bugger. He sets it two inches too far left of me. The earth is shaking, the roof is close to coming down, YET BRIMSTONE STILL STANDS TALL, MOTHERFUCKERS, and... Breach charges in. He doesn't check his corner. I'm starting to feel some shame in regards to this whole situation.

At this point, I realize that I have to get moving, because there is no way in hell that this will work a fifth time, and the last opposing player is Sova, and Sova can shoot through walls, so I have to get out of here. I'm smoking the entry, running towards the window, and...

Let's cut to another point of view here. Sova, clearly the thinking man of the group, starts to realize that B entry might be something of a killzone. Somewhere in there lurks this crazy madman who just outsmarts, outplans, outshoots his team in any way that counts, guy's unstoppable, unpredictable, guy must be cheating, or he's some Radiant smurf who just gets his sick kicks from tormenting these poor Iron players, and oh shit, he just got Breach, and Breach was the only guy in the team who actually knew how to fire a gun... So Sova tries a flanking maneuver, takes the long way around, jumps on two wooden chests and through the window.

He does this at the exact time that I am deciding I need to change position. From his view, it must look like I am charging him. I react on pure reflex and shoot. My crosshair is miles away from him, the bullet spread is enormous since I am running, so the bullet could go absolutely anywhere but where I am pointing the gun at. It does. Right through his head.

Ace.

And I can't help but think that the gods are mocking me.
