I have been seeing a lot of people asking about getting the gun models to 3d print and do other cool stuff with it so here is the tutorial on extracting/viewing them.

Other tutorials I looked for were either outdated or they required you to download the files they exported from umodel.

FILES NEEDED

umodel: https://www.gildor.org/en/projects/umodel

umodel_valorant_v3: https://www.gildor.org/smf/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=7040.0;attach=2622

**You need to have both files**

BACKGROUND

umodel allows you to explore the game files and view the different 3d Models in Valorant, feel free to look around the website and donate to the creator.

umodel_valorant is basically the same thing as umodel but its specifically made for Valorant as Valorant was updated and the original umodel no longer works as the files got obfuscated(harder to see). You can view on who made umodel_valorant here: https://www.gildor.org/smf/index.php/topic,7040.msg39129.html#msg39129

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Once you have everything downloaded, extract them and move umodel_valorant_v3 to the umodel folder. umodel_valorant_v3 uses the files that umodel uses.

  1. Open the umodel_valorant_v3 application.

  2. Set the path to game files to C:\Riot Games\VALORANT\live\ShooterGame\Content\Paks or wherever you have Valorant installed(make sure it ends in the paks folder)

  1. Right underneath the path, checkmark the override game detection box and set it to unreal engine 4 and set the game version to unreal engine 4.25. Make sure it is set to that otherwise it wont work, also dont touch anything else.
  1. Hit OK.

  2. Now a box will popup asking you for the AES key, copy and paste the key below into the box and hit OK.

AES KEY: 0x4BE71AF2459CF83899EC9DC2CB60E22AC4B3047E0211034BBABE9D174C069DD6

**cmd prompt might be open in the background do not close it as it will close the program**

  1. TaDa you are in the files now, the basic thing such as the gun and gun skins are under the equippables folder, the agents are under the character folder. Other things you will have to search for on your own.
  1. For tutorial sake we will look in the equippables folder for a gun skin. Also anything from guns to agents, the models for them are always under the "Models" Directory.

NOTE: Not all the files are named after their skin name so you will have to look through all of them to find the gun you want.

Equippables/Guns/Rifles/AK/Dragon/Models

Double click on the skelmesh to open it in the viewer, in this case all the skelmesh works but for any reason, whatever gun skin you picked doesnt end up working and shows you nothing just hit "o" on your keyboard to come back to the selection menu and try it with a different skelmesh.

  1. Now we will look under the character folder for agents models or their ability models. The steps to view their files are the same as above.

NOTE: Not all the folder are named after their respective agent/skin, they have codenames for them so you might have to dig up the codenames for characters/skins you cant find.

EXAMPLES

Sarge = Brimstone

Vampire = Reyna

Wushu = Jett

Once you open an agent directory its pretty self-explanatory

TIP: Double click on every asset under the models folder in any agent/skin directory to see if it works, continue doing until you find what you are looking for

EXPORTING THE FILES FOR 3D PRINTING, ETC.

FILES NEEDED

Blender: https://www.blender.org/

Blender addon: https://github.com/Befzz/blender3d_import_psk_psa
the addon allows you to import the model into blender, you wont be able to import the model otherwise for 3dprint or etc.

  1. Right click on the model you want to export and click export, the default place it will export to is inside your umodel folder.

If you want to change the export location click on tools then options and then change the export folder to the location you want

  1. Install the latest version of blender and download the addon, to download the addon from GitHub go ahead and click code and download the zip. Extract the zip file anywhere and leave it be we will come back to it in a bit.
  1. Open Blender(Blender is easy to use dont worry), make a new project name it whatever you want, make sure the project is empty. If its not empty highlight everything on the top right under collection and delete it.
  1. After that go to the top left, click on Edit then click Preferences
  1. A new window should pop up now click on the Add-ons then install on top right.
  1. It should open another window now navigate to where you extracted the addon downloaded earlier, and double click the add on ending in 280.py as it is the latest one.

now you should have that add on with a box next to it, checkmark that box and close out of the window

  1. To import the model exported out of umodel earlier you will need to click on file then import then skelmesh.psk

File>Import>Skeleton Mesh

  1. A new window should popup now go ahead navigate to where you exported the model from umodel and double click on the .psk file.

the location of the psk file corelates to the directory of where the model is located in umodel

  1. To export it to STL(for 3dprinting) just go to files>export>stl

Q&A

Any issues playing Valorant?
nope, had this for about a month or two, in that time I played a lot of valorant and it did not cause any issues.

Can you get banned for using it?
idk, if I had to guess probably not. Technically you are just viewing the files and not altering them.

How to add colours and textures to the model in blender?
I am extremely lazy to do that so here is a video I found when I began my journey on viewing the models. The video was extremely good but unfortunately it is outdated, the only good part about the video is that the creator goes in depth on exporting the models with textures to blender, etc.

I want to watch a video tutorial instead.
If you want a video tutorial just follow steps 1 and 2 on the Instructions after that just watch the same video as the one with adding textures from the start.
