Has there been a matchmaking change?

All enjoyment at this point has been sucked out by consistent 1/2/3 - 13 games. Has there been a change with the matchmaking? Is queuing with friends just a Deathwish? This system is shaping up to be worse than no matchmaking at all.

I like the game and the knives but the problem is that the good knives are over 20 dollars. Which is wild in my eyes, im prob used to the cheap stuff of other games but idk
