Personally, I think being supportive of your teammates and not judging them when they make a wrong move helps win more games than losing them. For clarification, I am a sage main that has a low K/D ratio with decent assists. On top of being already in a supportive role, I always try to hype up my team and distract them from thinking negative thoughts. Because of that, I think I was able to quickly rank up to Gold these past two seasons, even though I don't have the skills to be in this rank.
In comparison, I was talking about my rank to a bronze player who put well over hundreds of hours into the game. They were actually stuck in bronze and silver and didn't know how to get out. What was surprising to them was how it took less than a 100 hours for me to reach gold. As always, I asked what went wrong with their matches and right off they start complaining about their teammates and how incompetent they were, which gave me signs that they were a negative player. I told him that he needs to be more supportive of his teammates while improving his skills, but he ignored it and came to the conclusion that I was just extremely lucky. So I guess I am asking about your thoughts about being a positive teammate, and it's relation with winning games. Does being positive actually help win a game?
