I’m a peak immo3 player. I am currently Diamond 3 and have only been as high as ascendant 2 since the new rank was introduced. I was immortal 2 #6400 right before ascendant.
I have very rarely ever had good games in this rank. It seems like everyone is either boosted or paid for their accounts.
Anyway, even as a d3 player I mvp a lot of my games against high ascendant/low immortal players but I very rarely win them. I don’t think there’s any reason a d3 player should be playing against people even in ascendant 3. The hidden MMR system makes it really hard to climb. It was never a problem for me before ascendant, but I’m definitely struggling to win consistently now.
I just don’t understand why we don’t have players playing within 1 rank below and above their rank. It makes no sense to have a plat player in an ascendant lobby or a diamond player in an immortal lobby.
If people are better than their rank, let them win with a high enough KD in their rank to boost them out. There’s no sense in trying to balance a game to a potential 50/50 win chance for each team by putting someone against a player 3-5 ranks above them.
