I was always this kind of tech rat, constantly trying to get the best performance out of a competetive game or even single player games. I would literally try EVERYTHING to bump up the FPS as high as possible before actually playing the game. And that is totally fine! However, it becomes an issue if you are constantly worrying about your FPS, especially ingame.
I have friends talking during the competetive match: "Oh, I don't get it, I have 250 frames, but the Astra smokes on Bind always drop my frames to 150 :(". They always have their eyes on the top left corner, consistently worrying. Now, here is my tip: HIDE the FPS! What is the point of having it on and worrying about it. Go to practice range, test a lot of settings in game and in NVIDIA.
Once you got the settings with the best performance (if this is your priority) then hide it and don't worry about it again. You will have so much more mental clarity and you will focus more on the actual gameplay.
Oh and btw, no it's not your FPS limiting you to become an Immortal player if you already have a 144hz monitor and constantly over 150 frames. If you don't believe it check out Asuna from 100 Thieves. You can watch his streams and his constantly drops to 120 in frames.
So trust me, hide all that bs and enjoy the actual game. Start playing the game, stop worrying! :-)
