I heard that you need to watch the VCT grand finals but I'm not sure if that's true. Does anyone know for sure how you would be able to get them?

I won all 5 of my placement games against high gold / plat players. Why did I get silver 3?
I played killjoy all 5 games, went against high gold / low plat, had a kdr of 1.5+ every time, and combat score of 200+ per round. why did riot decide to place me in silver 3? I can't even queue with one of the dudes I played with in a prev...
