Hello Everyone,
I am currently ranked Immortal 2(Radiant peak) and I would like to share some of the knowledge I have gathered through my personal experience and things that have worked for me in the past.
These topics are generalized and will apply to every rank. I will try to cover as much as possible without being overwhelming.
The first topic I want to touch is confidence.
CONFIDENCE
The Most common cause for this is insecurity regarding AIM. This is something that I used to think of a lot as well and I would like to share what worked for me.
Use an aim trainer(Aimlab & Kovaak are the most common ones). I would personally recommend rambo's training routines in Aimlab but do not fatigue yourself, one run in each course is enough. Afterwards, do 2-3 DM matches and you are good to go.
This way you train your muscles while gaining confidence without overexerting yourself.
You will see noticeable improvements at first and then they will slowly tapper off as you reach your potential.
Doing these should improve your confidence and let you focus on the more important aspects of the game.
TILT
Ok, we have all been there, there is always either one guy flaming or some people doing some random stuff they should not and so on.
Point is, how do we try to recover from it.
Well, while in the middle of the match I have found that INHALING and EXHALING slowly for one minute or so will calm you down. I know it sound stupid, but it actually helps a lot.
Now that the game has ended, let us assume that the aftermath is not pretty, maybe you lost, maybe the exercise above was not enough to calm you down.
Take a 30 minute break, go sit in the bed, watch a TV show, take a walk around the park. Find the reset button from the inside :D.
BURNOUT
So now we have reached the 3rd topic of the guide.
After playing a while I have noticed that I started losing focused, missed some calls or just cannot focus on the middle of the screen for too long. I could also be tired or just got bored from playing too much.
Take the day off or take multiple days off. There is no point in playing if you do not enjoy the game.
Playing any further will not only stop the progress you have made but will most likely regress it.
You will notice that you will play a lot better after you come back hungry to compete and win.
MINDSET
This one is an interesting one, I would say this is related to confidence but it deserves it's own section.
You need to go into a match thinking "I am better than them", it is really something so simple and yet so difficult to achieve.
Maybe you had a couple of bad rounds or you just got HSed across the map with a marshal.
Never doubt yourself or what you are doing in that moment.
"I am better and this is the right play to make" .
It is really not important if it is the correct play or not, it just has to be the best at that moment, in your mind. Even if it is a bad play, you can make it work if you believe in yourself.
That is what it is called a "Winning Mindset".
STATE OF FLOW
Finally we have reached the apex of this guide.
What is the state of flow?
I believe everyone has experienced it without realizing it. It feels like you have instant response time, sharp, precise, unstoppable.
So, in order to achieve this peak focus, first off, you need to not have other responsibilities or worries outside the game.
Take care of everything and then play the game.
Secondly, just take care of what your body needs: food, water, sleep.
Another thing that applies to me is that I perform better when I am alone in a dark room, just me and my game. So the environment can also be a factor, or just the clothes you wear, make yourself comfortable.
That is it for this one, hope you guys enjoyed it, let me know what are your thoughts in the comment section.
P.S: I am looking for some VOD content to review, PM me if you have any (free coaching :D).
