How do you play against an enemy default?

for context i’m still pretty new to the game, I was bronze last act but gold this act and I’ve been seeing enemy teams play this strat more often in my games just need help from high elo players. pls be nice :)

Valorant says I hit Viper 88 times in the head, chest, and legs, why?

I sprayed through a Viper Ult and it says I dealt 16 damage to her while hitting her a total of 264 times. I’m fairly certain this isn’t accurate.
