I mainly play cypher but I’m trying to learn Kayo, what are some needed util tips? What do I do with knife? When do I use it?

Why don't more players play Vandal + Shorty?
I've been playing around with this lately and it gives great damage at all ranges (also a decent setup for me as a shotgun player).
Why don't more rifle players use a shorty in the pocket?
