I always hear good players and pros talk about how the best way to fight someone one on one is to tap, strafe and repeat. Now, I can see why this is good in immortal and above because everyone is going for headshots, so strafing makes your head way harder to track.
But with anything under immortal, it's a different story. So I'm currently plat 1 and anytime I try to strafe I get hit in the body or leg, which then makes me unable to move. So the problem Is that I can't practice strafing if I always die to a body shot followed by a head shot, because the time where I can't move is enough for my enemy to aim at my head.
Is strafing really that good at all? Or is there even an optimal way of fighting one on one to begin with?
