it's always bothered me that it doesn't really match the other ranks. i tried to edit it so that it better matches immortal because based on the shape it's supposed to be a lesser version of immortal without the pointy side parts, i think.

changes:
- made the grey background thing a circle to match immortal

- made the stars of ascendant 2 bigger so that it matches ascendant 3 (and diamond and below

- adjusted positioning so that it's not off center

other than being mini-immortal, i think that the other thing riot were going for when they designed all the original ranks (before ascendant got added) was that each rank added another side to the polygon. ascendant completely breaks that but unless they do a complete overhaul of ascendant and immortal there's nothing that can be done about that.

it's a sloppy edit and in my opinion ascendant still the ugliest rank, but i think it's better than the original.
