In all seriousness: why are people so mean to new players in valorant, even at low rank/unrated? Or spike rush or death match? I really enjoy valorant, I have a fun time playing and practicing in the shooting range. I love watching it, have seen almost every match of champions and really just want to learn. But I come from a background in my life where I was bullied a lot as a kid by my family and kids at school, so I have a really strong reaction to being yelled at or told I'm stupid/useless/a bot in game.

I've barely just started playing so I know there's a lot of opportunity to get better, but it's very discouraging to get yelled at even in just the first few games. I know it's ultimately my problem to overcome if I really want to play and get better at the game, but I also think if maybe people could explain to me why people take it so seriously as to taunt or get aggressive at other players even in unrated or low ELO, it would help me feel more empathetic and handle those situations better since I know where the other person is coming from. Because to me, if I was very good at something and met someone who sucked at it, I would probably just ignore them if they weren't hurting me, and I don't get how me sucking in iron or unrated is hurting anyone.

I don't think valorant has a toxic community at all. I watch a lot of streamers and youtubers, I see them make fun of themselves and I know not everyone takes it too seriously. But for those who do or have taken it that seriously in the past, can you give insight as to why shitty players bother you? Thank you thank you thank you any insight would really help me get past this hurdle 🙏🙏
