I am no way an amazing player. I have questionable aim but I feel that my game sense is pretty decent. Here are some things that I noticed my friends struggle with and players around their elo do too which are easily correctable if you work on them.
1: Be aware of your body positioning.
Far too many times I've witnessed people sitting in a spot where yes they can watch a corner but they are exposed in 1-2 other angles where they could be shot from. Look at your minimap to see where your teammates and or a wall/object is. Is it possible for someone to sneak up on your side and shoot you while you're holding that angle? If yes then try to move to a position where the only threat from an enemy is the angle you're peeking.
Also, are you holding an angle where you can retreat if you are overwhelmed or are losing the fight? There's been too many times where my friends would stand out in the open to challenge someone but put themselves in a position where there is no retreat. Its either win the firefight or you die in those kind of positions. If you peek an angle make sure there's somewhere you can retreat to.
2: Stop and take a fraction of a second to actually aim.
I know this sounds stupid because in this game a fraction of a second can mean life and death. But far too many times I've seen my friends and other players just fire because they see someone and their crosshair is remotely near them. Yes the first 5 or so games you will be crushed because you're taking too long to shoot. But eventually you should start to notice that you are getting quicker in aiming properly at the opponent. Once you become comfortable and stop whiffing completely the next step is to take another fraction of a second to consciously aim at an opponents head before shooting.
3: Be aware of the sound.
This is one of the biggest things that it seems players in these ranks seem to forget. Just 1 footstep noise can give your position away so be aware of when you're walking and when you're making noise. This also applies to hearing the enemy as well. My friends often miss audio cue's of enemies around them and end up getting shot in the back or at least surprised when they shouldn't have been. So pay attention to every little sound you or the enemy makes.
4: Stop wasting time when the bomb is planted when you're on defense.
Stop lurking around mid or even the other site with zero urgency when the bomb is planted elsewhere. Now I'm not saying be reckless but the faster you get near the site the more you allow yourself to take your time taking back the site.
These are 4 out of many things I've noticed new players need to focus on. Please let me know what you think about them or if there's something you would change about them. Also if you have tips of your own I would love to hear them so I could pass the information along to my friends.

Turns out you actually lose a little bit of elo from a tie, even if it displays equal. I tied and still lost 3RP
