I was tired of being 'hardstuck' so I decided to start taking Valorant more seriously. These are the 5 things I started doing that helped me to instantly start ranking up! It also helped me deal with toxic players a lot better and made the game a lot more enjoyable.

So, like everyone else in this subreddit, I love Valorant. But I’ve been wanting to rank up and start playing the game at a higher level since it looks a lot more enjoyable. I started trying to figure what I could do to get out of bronze and after playing more, trying to learn more about the game and training more, I found the top 5 tips that helped me finally get out of bronze!

Tip 1: Learn how to properly play the game – Yes, I know… This one is very self-explanatory but just wait XD You should take the time to see what everything does and how different things all interact with each other. This will just improve your gamesense and overall understanding of the game so you can start making better decisions and outplaying your enemies. Also, in my case, I went into my first game without learning how to even defuse the bomb… So, learn the game properly!

Tip 2: Learn Your Callouts – Learning the callouts for all the maps will drastically improve your communication with your team. It’ll allow you to be clearer with telling your teammates where you see enemies, where you’re planting and even how you want to be approaching different sites. It’ll also help you in cases where teammates give you information. If your teammate calls something and you don’t know where the call is for, then you’re immediately at a disadvantage.

Tip 3: Practice Your Aim – You could say that by just playing the game your aim will improve, but there’s a way to train your aim that will help it improve 10-fold. By using aim trainers like aim labs or kovaaks, you’re training your aim specifically and you’re spending a lot more time actually training. When you’re in a game, you only spend a few moments per round aiming, the rest of the time is you waiting for the enemy to push or your team to push onto sites. In aim trainers you can spend hours training your aim without any wait.

Tip 4: Main One Agent… For Now – When you’re in bronze I think it’s a good idea to focus on playing one agent only. That way you’re able to learn and improve while keeping consistent performance. If you keep playing other agents, you won’t be as good at each one as you would if you were to just play 1 agent. Now when you get to the higher ranks you should definitely have a pool of 2-3 agents that you main so you have other agents to pick to suit your team or if yours gets instalocked. But for now, to get out of bronze I would say stick to one agent.

Tip 5: Be a Good Team Player – Play like a teammate you would want to play with. Doing this has really helped me attract the best out of my teammates and get better and less toxic games. Yes, there will still be toxic people and no, doing this won’t help you win all your games. But you will definitely start making the game more enjoyable for yourself and for your teammates. All I started doing was asking my team how they were doing at the beginning of games and just constantly giving positive reinforcement throughout the game. I would acknowledge good plays, reassure my teammates if they made bad ones and started trying to actively keep the whole mood positive to avoid any toxicity and teammates that want to start throwing.

These are the top 5 tips that helped me get out of bronze and go even further, I made a video about all of this that goes into a lot more detail and shows more of my progress!

Hopefully these tips have been helpful and you can start applying them to your game to get out of bronze. And if you’re not in bronze, I’m sure some of these tips can still help you out too!
