Hi all,
Long time lurker here. wanna present my idea of a game mode which I had in mind for quite sometime now.
We all wanna play a shorter version of unrated (7 rounds to win, 6 rounds on each half) but it would have it's own drawbacks such as:
>Economy would be unbalanced : with less rounds per half, the economy would be confusing, if a team reaches max creds, then it'd be very difficult to bring their economy down, they can just at least half buy all the remaining rounds. also if you force buy and loose the second round after loosing the pistol round you are pretty much at a disadvantage for the whole half.
>Ult would be less used: if there are only six rounds per half you would not be getting ult very often, as most of the agents require 7/6 ult points, you'd use your ult only once or maybe none per half.
(Less rounds= less deaths: so I need to actually get kills to charge my ult as sage)
>You can just surrender: if you play 5/4 stack, you can just play the original unrated and just surrender after a half is over. Having a shorter unrated would just not make much sense if you can just do the above.
So based on the above shortcomings of just an unrated with 6 rounds, I have thought of the new game mode with the following features:
- Total 6 rounds per half (can surrender prior if needed). overtime or sudden death if tie at the end.
- Economy for every round is predetermined( doesn't matter if you win/loose you will have the fixed creds in the next round). So try to clutch the 1v5 instead of saving.
- First round always has 800 creds just like a pistol round.
- Next three rounds have fixed creds enough for half buy(~3k creds) or full buy(~4k creds) or max buy (9k creds) respectively.
- Next two rounds would be at an eco disadvantage for each team.
- For example: one team will have enough for half buy while the other will have enough for full buy.
- Or one team will have 800 creds for secondaries+util against the other with half buy.
- I fell this would be very good because you will play a lot more sensibly knowing that you are at a disadvantage when compared to the opposite.
- Also this would actually be like a proper save/force buy round. unlike the ones we(I) have in unrated where I am with a vandal+HS, my jett with a classic, and my sage with bucky+ LS cause we couldn't use mics or declare that we are saving at the end of buy phase.
- Ult orbs will be available at the spawn for both the teams in order to compensate for less rounds: I don't know how many, maybe discuss this in comments.
- You can pick up weapons from the ground if dropped.
- You can request and buy weapons at the start, unlike spikerush .
- Unless specified otherwise, you can expect everything else to be like in an unrated match.
- If the economy is confusing here's what the creds per round would look like in-game:
Round | Team 1 | Team 2 | Eco status |
---|---|---|---|
1,7 | 800 | 800 | Pistol round |
2,8 | 3000* | 3000* | Half buy(specter+ HS, Bulldog+ LS or Guardian+ no shields) |
3,9 | 4000* | 4000* | Full buy( Vandal+ HS,odin+ LS, awp+ no shields) |
4,10 | 9000 | 9000 | max buy( literally everything including abilities) |
5,11 | 3000*/900* | 9000/3000* | Team 1 has force buy |
6,12 | 9000/3000* | 3000*/900* | Team 2 has force buy |
OT | 5000 | 5000 | Overtime/ sudden death for tie breaker |
* I'm just bronze, I don't know exactly how much creds in a half buy or full buy, these values are obtained by using spectre+ HS for halfbuy and Vandal+ hs for fullbuy.
As mentioned previously I am just bronze, so there may be some fatal flaws that I might not have noticed due to my lack of understanding of the game. I hope this posts helps the community in any way.
