I'm fairly new and after i saw my friend struggle to rank up after he got placed in iron 2, i'm anxious if i'm good enough to play good to escape the low elo's. Is this normal and what should i do, should i play the placement matches or should i wait till i get better at the game

The amount of smurfs in bronze/silver is insane
Like every other game there is a reyna or jett dropping 30+ kills and not giving a chance to the opponents its just sad. I deranked from silver 2 to bronze 3 and im about to demote again because of smurfs and this ranking system that makes...
