Newish player here. Every unrated or swiftplay lobby I play in has me paired with people that are always level 100 to 200+. Most of the time they are on the other team. I hear that there is a skill based matchmaking built into non-ranked modes but I am not understanding why I keep getting paired against people that have what I am assuming is 2K+ hours on the game.

For my 20 hours of game-time I have a horrible K/D I typically go 2/8+ every round and have never gotten MVP. My win loss is terribly negative as well. Yet everyday I load up, every lobby is filled with people that instantly kill me, and go positive by double digits.

Does valorant mmr think I am some kind of genius? or am I just incredibly unlucky? I feel as though I am stuck and can't progress because the learning curve is so high that I'm thinking of just playing something else.
