I'm surprised at how much hardware can impact in-game results

I've been playing Valorant for over a year on a laptop, the game ran surprisingly well, 1080p @ 60ish FPS. I've been following the Miyagi method of warm-up, which for those that don't know, is:

  1. Training range: Sheriff headshots on Easy
  2. Training range: Sheriff headshots on Medium
  3. Training range: Guardian headshots on Eliminate 50 + Strafe
  4. Deathmatch: Guardian only

So on the laptop I averaged about 22-26 score on the first step, 11-14 on the second step, 108-116 seconds on the third step, and deathmatch average result was always below 6th place.

Yesterday, I finally got my new desktop up and running, which is playing Valorant 1080p @ 300-500fps. My results went down on the first day, but today they've all gone up. First step I hit my first 30 score thrice, second step I've been scoring 20-22, third step I'm completing in 80 seconds very consistently, and deathmatch I'm placing between 3rd and 6th spot pretty consistently.

Also as a sidenote I want to give a huge shoutout to the art/design team of the maps, the higher quality settings add so much beautiful detail to the maps that are genuinely stunning and I don't think they're distracting at all.

Has anyone else upgraded from a low-end setup and noticed a significant increase in results shortly after? Would love to hear your results. I'm considering jumping into Competitive for the first time since Act 2 just to see how well I'd do this time around
