I'm just gonna preface this with the fact that I have over 4,000 hours in CSGO, and who knows how many hours in any FPS you can name.
And I have to say that Valorant, by far, has the WORST competitive experience that I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing. It's at the point where the game is not even enjoyable. I am on a 10+ loss streak right now, and I have dropped from Imm2 to D2. Keep in mind all of these games are solo queued games (except for maybe 3 that I duo queued).
For starters, the difference between an immortal game and a diamond game is literally though the roof, and there should not be this big of a skill discrepancy when we are supposedly in the less than 1 to maybe 5% of the player base. People are getting boosted like no other and the game is not playable when you have 2 people on your team who deserve to be in gold. Diamond and low immortal elo is also filled with an insane amount of smurfs or smurfs from high elo that are "warming up" or "don't care enough to try."
There is also a massive issue with game balance. If the agents are really as balanced as Riot claims they are, you should be able to have any team comp (with the exception of maybe needing smokes) and be able to at least put up a fight with the other team (I'm talking about maybe a 9-13 game). Yet, somehow, Riot's poor excuse for an elo system has allowed for me to have 5 games where the win spread was 8+ (meaning a 5-13 game) and 1 game where it was 1-13. This should simply not be happening at this high of an elo AND at this frequency. It shows that they do not know how to properly balance teams when people are queuing.
This brings me back around to another point. I could see that in maybe silver elo it would be MAYBE possible to lose 10+ games in a row because players are still getting used to the game and they aren't consistent. However, there is no circumstance where I should be losing this many in a row at immortal or even a diamond level. And before you jump on the "it's a team game you're part of the problem" bus, out of 10+ games I should be able to to have a bad game (and maybe get 5 kills in at least one of those games) and still get a team that is good enough to get us a win. But it's not even the case that I am under preforming. In 4 of these games I match MVPed and in 2 of them I team MVPed. One of the games I had 27 kills and we still lost.
There needs to be a major rework for how they balance teams. I don't fully know how they created their system, but something is clearly not working. I shouldn't have to create a 5 stack to play a competitive just so that I have a fighting chance.
