I thought Riot said immortal (as it’s one rank now) will use the old immortal 3 badge. I’ve seen a couple of immortals now and they all have the old immortal 1 badge and not the immortal 3 badge. Is this a bug or what?

Silver 3 player here, why am I getting matched against Gold 3 players?
I get that It's not too far off, but in my most recent game I went up against 3 gold 3 players and almost everyone gold 2, is this so riot can somehow valuate if I really deserve gold or is the matchmaking just putting me up against golds b...
