Iron 1 to Plat!

It took me 4 acts but I finally got my shiny, purple (I guess it’s blue) badge after being stuck in Iron hell. Not only were competitive shooters completely new to me, PC gaming was also new. I understand many of you would still kick my ass but damn it - IM EXCITED!

Here is a short observation and how I got out of each rank:

Iron - I was unbelievably god awful but so was everyone else. Horrible aim with nonexistent game sense. Before every session, I was in the range shooting the bots. I would not continue until I hit minimum 15 on medium. This improved my aim, carrying me to Bronze.

Bronze - A lot of games had 1 or 2 players on each team carrying with 30+ kills. Team mates would flank and use abilities unintentionally harming other team mates. The COD attitude needed put aside to rally the TEAM for the win. I also was set on Sage as my only character no matter what I started learning other characters to fill in that missing link.

Silver - this was HARD. I swear, silver players are better than gold. I spent A LOT of time in the range trying to improve my aim and corner peaking skills. Every second, I was focused on my cross hair placement and landing that first headshot. Team mates are VERY toxic in this rank but I made an effort to give every callout possible - even when I was told I’m annoying.

Gold - I focused on using my abilities to allow team mates to frag out. My kills went from 25+ a game to maybe 15. I would entry but always tell a team mate what my plan was. Most of the time, I was traded. Communication was the holy grail to get to play. I also forced myself to shoot 25 bots on medium before every session.

For all ranks - PLAY DEATH MATCH!

Okay, my book is done. I hope this helps someone out there!
