After playing this game for a year I've found myself asking the same question time and time again, is playing competitively really worth it? I'm not talking from a general competitive standpoint in any game, I'm talking about competitive in valorant, which plays out drastically different that competitive in other games. I've been hard stuck in multiple ranks over the course of this past year, and all of which are low elo. (Iron 1 on episode 1 act 1 and peaked g2 last act) and have found the same problem throughout the entire experience. Matchmaking is abysmal. A constant loop of getting good teammates then bad teammates then smurfing enemy team then pretty bad enemy team. And from what I've heard it doesn't get any better with higher ranks. After going this endless loop time and time again it seems like it really isn't worth it. I feel like competitive play in any game is meant to challenge you, and in Valorant's case it's not challenging so much as it is complete bullshit.
