Is my MMR f#$cked?

I never really had a problem with my lp gains, but once I started duoing with my girlfriend this act I noticed how weird the lp gain/loss was relative to our performance. The point disparity got so bad at one point to where I was an entire rank below her just from gain/loss differences. Is there some secret algorithm deciding that i'm a stinky kda player, or is my mmr just doomed? I feel that there's a large enough sample size here where the points won/loss are starting to look a bit ridiculous.
