Hey guys! I've been into the Valorant Lore and I don't normally do this kind of thing cause I'm shy haha! But the new Patch cards have been catching my eyes, all but this one...
Reyna VS Viper
Feels like a huge deal! I mean, we all know that Reyna has a little sister (based on the line "For you, Hermanita" Hermanita=little sister) and because she said "for you" it's possible she says that because she's dead. We also know Reyna is hungry for revenge (also based on her player card named "Revenge for Life"), however, we never knew what exactly happened to Reyna's sister.
When the new patch came out with a new selection of game pass items, this card is available. The card shows Reyna and Viper having a staredown with a photo below them showing a young girl with Viper who in this case might be called Dr. Sabine (Viper has a line reply to Cypher saying not to call her "Sabine" alone, but "Dr. Sabine") about to head in a Kingdom lab.
I would go to details as well as to why Viper is heading inside a Kingdom Lab, but our main focus, for now, is who the little girl is that's with Viper and what happened to her?
Viper is known to be a scientist who worked for either Kingdom or Valorant (not sure myself). She has connections with Omen and Sage because they were related to an incident that causes Omen to become a non-human being. She was also somewhat a leader to the team as she and Brimstone did share some leadership and being the first 2 to join Valorant. Reyna is a radiant, agent who has supernatural powers. Most of her story relates to her having a deep desire for revenge and one of the biggest lore information about her was her mentions of her deceased little sister.
So did Viper kill Reyna's Sister in a Kingdom's Experiment? It could be possible, but WHY? I have a few theories about the card:
- The card takes place BEFORE the Omen incident (An accident in the lab that killed Omen and turned him into a shadow being). I believe that AFTER the First Light, Dr. Sabine and her colleagues are trying to experiment and create more radiants since only a few certain people were awakened with abilities. Reyna's little sister must've been chosen probably because Reyna had some powers and not her.
- Let's say this is BEFORE the First Light, Viper and her team must've thought of trying to revolutionize and upgrade humanity starting with Reyna's sister. We know the classic trope, Scientists wanted to see how much humanity can evolve so they do crazy stuff.
- Viper had no choice and had to experiment on someone and she choose Reyna's sister without knowing she's related to Reyna. And again, another usual trope. So now Reyna wants to kill Viper for it. xP
- She used Reyna's sister as a way to find a way to bring Omen back. Omen and Viper have shown that they have some connection in the past (Omen always refers to Viper as "Sabine" and Viper had a voice line talking to Omen and calling him by his real name "Fred"). In my opinion, I feel like they must've been close because Viper seems to care for Omen (she has so many lines for Omen). Omen also has so many lines referring to him or the other Omen suffering, being in so much pain, living a nightmare, and other torture. It's possible that Viper must've tried to find a way to save a life, only ending up taking the life of someone else's dear loved one.
That's all for my theories between Viper (Dr. Sabine) and Reyna (Delilah)! Let me know what yall think and also share with me some of your own ideas! I am obsessed with Valorant's Lore so I'm open~
