I swear I've seen this even in the pros since Counter Strike Source, and I still see it everywhere today. Anywhere from low ranks, to Valorant pros in the streams I watch run around blindly with their knives out, even if they aren't crunched for time, and just get killed because they get caught with their pants down. Why?? Just have your gun out if you aren't in a rush and 100% sure where the other team is.

The Competitive Remake system absolutely needs a rework.
