I’m a new player. When I first did my placements and got ranked, I was playing with people who were incredibly worse than me. It’s like the game knew to hook me in that way, knowing I’d get addicted faster if I felt like a natural. I was just demolishing everyone. Then right as that started to get boring, it’s like the game knew, because I started playing with people my skill level. That was even more fun, because I wasn’t just playing on easy mode and was instead being challenged within range of what I can do. Now I’m totally hooked, and again, the game is well aware, and its time for the trap…. putting me in a 50/50 of either playing with people way above my elo and just having me get shit on and yelled at or showing me the “mercy” of doing the same thing but with a good team that carries me. It’s like a coin toss with a very slow incline.
Why would they do this trap once we are addicted? What’s the point? My theory is they want to make it more about putting time in rather than skill. They don’t want good players to just be able to climb quickly, they want people who put hundreds or more hours to climb that way. More time more skins. It’s very smart but it sucks for us.
I just want to have fun again.
