Let me preface this by saying the highest rank I have ever been is bronze 3, and quickly dropped after one game.

I normally hang around iron 3 and, obviously, have been trying to climb. However, back before act 3, I played with my silver 2 friend. I knew what I was getting into and prepared to bottom frag.

This was not the case.

I didn't top frag, however, I did get a pretty high k/d. If I remember correctly I think it was around 25/7.

Of course this isn't huge however in Iron lobbies I normally hover at an 11/5 k/d at most.

Can someone either explain this phenomenon or help me in how I can overcome it.
